Headline RSS reader
RSS readers are a must have on a mobile device. I set my devices to connect to my wireless network and download the latest feeds for reading whenever I have a spare moment. On the N95, I initially tried Resco’s News, but finally settled on WildPalm’s HeadLine. Resco News is still a beta product and did show some quirks during my testing period. Nothing serious, and I certainly liked the huge selection of feeds that are included – all or some of these may be selected to build up an initial list of feeds to get going. I preferred the HeadLine interface. It’s cleaner and seems to work better, though I’d suggest you try them both to see which suits you.
HeadLine includes a small selection of popular feeds. These are categorized according to their content. Adding a new feed is relatively simple, and it is possible to import existing feed lists saved in OPML format.

Once selected, the feed content is displayed. Though the text is small, it is easy to read. An overview of the currently selected item is provided in the rectangular section at the lower end of the screen.

Nothing more to say about that. Select the item and it’s displayed in the full text window.

Using the left and right directional keys permits scrolling from news item to news item. And that’s about all there is to say about an RSS reader, I guess: news on the go and the possibility of always staying on top of the latest events.
I hope google comes out with Google Reader for phones just like the Gmail app. Although http://www.google.com/reader/m is available I would like the J2ME version just like the Gmail app.
Agreed – though I prefer an offline reader, not something that constantly needs to connect to gain access to content. Maybe a mobile version of Google Gears?
