Ding-dong, no Dell!

What a mess! The order for my D830 was placed almost a month ago, with the expected delivery date 30 January. In the last two weeks, I’ve made one call to Dell to enquire about the shipment status, only to be told that I’d receive a return call. Nothing, of course.

Dell Latitude D830

Left it at that, then ran up to the Dell office yesterday to speak directly to the account executive. Though full payment was made on the day of ordering a month ago, Dell hasn’t even placed the order for the machine yet! An administrative oversight, or similar, I’ve been assured. They’ve promised another three weeks. You’ve gotta be joking! The order has been canceled, and I will make a new choice. Probably not a Dell

    Ah Customer Service…
I sent my imate JAMin in for repairs 3 weeks ago. You recommended it and it is still a stunning phone (can’t wait to get a TYTN II though). The center of the touchscreen went dead 2 months ago. I lived with it until I had to align my screen so I sent it in…

Anyway 3 weeks at vodacom’s “repair” centre… Today I got a text message: “Phone is ready for collection and was unable to be repaired”. Anyway I’ll see tomorrow if my Jamin is still usable… It’s under warranty, they should replace it if it’s an manufacturing fault. But its like arguing with a bunch of monkeys. I guess the customer service people are trained to be monkeys and not to care about the customers at all… Not their fault

Anyway random rant about customer service. I just want my phone back in one piece.

At least my poor service experience results in a refund! By the way: I still have a used JAMin I’m trying to flog. Make me an offer I can’t refuse ;-)

Ha ha. Thanks but I’m upgrading in a few months.
It’s between an unlocked iphone and Tytn II.

I will offer you the sum off… wait for it… R153.20 which is in my wallet at the moment. ha ha. Or maybe I’ll pay more if you will provide better customer services

By now I guess that amount has been reduced to 142.05, based on yet another meal of junk food. So: no deal ;-)

Tytn II is nice. iPhone is better. Nokia E90 is the best ;-)
