South Africa on iTunes
Some lucky individuals the world over are busy getting their 3G iPhones, or are planning to run to a store nearby. For those of us on the dark continent, the wait is still in progress. Exactly how long to go, I’m not sure. At least, there is some exciting news: the new release of iTunes is available for download. The most notable feature, as was to be expected, is the availability of software and applications for the iPhone.
Of course, that alone doesn’t qualify as anything spectacular. Instead, I discovered that there is now a localized iTunes store:
It seems to be possible to create an account. Finally!
My attempts so far at creating an account have failed – apparently, the payment processor is overloaded. I’m assuming this is due to the demand for user ID’s the iPhone sales are generating…

SA itunes is rubbish! Load of junk apps. No music no ringtones no movies etc. Waste of time!
I have checked on the Itunes South African store. I can not purchase a movie to download onto my Ipod. Why is this?. Please advise if these is some other means of puirchasing a movie to put on Ipod. Fred

Next time, consider what you’re buying and what you want out of it…getting a US iTunes account is not difficult.
